Youth Ministry Leadership

If you are willing to receive or to deepen your knowledge and to develop your organizational skills in the sphere of youth ministry, this program is for you!

Description of the program

The part-time “Youth Ministry Leadership” program is scheduled for two years of education (3 examination periods per year) with work load of 70 credits. The program is focused, mainly, on youth leaders in churches. Yet it can be useful for leaders of small Bible study groups or out-of-church youth ministry. The main task of the program is to form biblical features of character in students as well as reasonable and attentive attitude to the youth, realizing that in their hands is not only the future of the church, but also of the whole society.

Objectives

  • To teach biblical doctrines, as a basis of theology;
  • To teach biblical principles, which are necessary for youth ministry in a church context;
  • To analyze interests, needs and problems of modern youth;
  • To teach the principles and methods of biblical counselling for the work with the youth.

After graduation, it is expected that the student:

  • Is prepared to work with church youth, is aware of actual theological and practical issues;
  • Is instructed in the principles of Christian leadership as well as in the basics of management and administration for skilled organizing activity;
  • Is instructed in the methods of work with youth and in the principles of biblical counselling.

 

Journalist, Editor of Media

This is a unique program on the market of modern Christian education. Here you can receive basic knowledge and skills in the sphere of journalism. Besides specified and humanitarian courses, the students receive basic knowledge in the history of the Church and of the Ukrainian Baptist Union, in the doctrines of the Baptist denomenation and some other specialized theological disciplines. Al these will help a future journalist to present church in the secular context and to elucidate theological issues adequately and professionally.

Description of the program

The part-time program “Journalist, Editor of Media” is scheduled for three years of education (4 examination periods per year). At the program, besides the specified subjects, introduction to the biblical, theological and humanitarian subjects are taught. The work load is of 70 credits. After graduation, a student will have opportunity to be involved in the information ministry in the Baptist Union and work in secular media organizations.

After graduation, graduates receive a diploma of “B” level, according to the international classification of education level of EAAA (second level of education). 

Objectives

  • To teach biblical doctrines and Baptist creed for students; to introduce them to the history of the Baptist Union; to teach them how to use the received knowledge and skills for evangelism and informational support of church activities; to familiarize students with the doctrinal and practical issues in the light of the Baptist Union's theology;
  • To teach the main concepts and approaches to the general view of Christian journalism;
  • To help students to acquire skills for the correct usage of the information, received from different sources, for apologetics and popularization of Christian values and knowledge of God, for forming a positive image of the Baptist Union in the modern society;
  • To prepare students to use the received knowledge and skills in ministry and for training other people.

  • Will have a clear and well-founded notion of Christian doctrines;
  • Will be able to explain the main concepts of Christian teaching and to expound the doctrines of the Baptist Union;
  • Will develop the information ministry in the Baptist Union;
  • Will be able to soundly and objectively report and react on the processes in the church and society.
